Charged only for verified results

Know what enrichment costs before you run it.

Kiln chains your data providers into a waterfall, shows the exact cost and expected match rate up front, and bills you only for results that came back verified. Misses, errors and cached repeats are free.

Billing

The whole product, in one line

Most enrichment tools charge you per attempt. That makes a bad list and a good list cost the same, and it makes your bill impossible to predict. Kiln charges per answer.

billed = hit && verified && !cached && !sample

You are charged for

  • A fresh, verified result you can actually send to

Free, every time

  • A miss — no provider had the record
  • A provider error, timeout or rate limit
  • An email guess that failed verification
  • A repeat lookup already in your cache
  • Sample data, when no API key is configured
  • Anything on your suppression list

Platform

Four parts, one pipeline

Get the data, research it, run it on a schedule, and send it where the work happens.

Data

One waterfall, ten providers, one bill.

Chain providers in the order you choose. The run stops at the first verified hit, and the provenance log records which one answered, what it cost and how confident it was. Bring your own keys on any plan and pay the vendor at cost.

Agents

Ask a question of every row.

Write the instruction in plain language, test it free on sample rows, then deploy it to a column. Output is schema-validated, so a malformed model response is caught rather than written into your table.

5 free sample runs per agent

Orchestration

Runs on a schedule, a webhook, or a changed field.

Every step attempt is persisted before and after it runs, retried with backoff and keyed by an idempotency key — so a retry replays instead of charging you twice.

Durable step log, bounded retries

Execution

Straight into the tools you already send from.

Push to HubSpot, Salesforce, Instantly, Smartlead, Slack or any webhook. CRM sync is included on the entry paid tier rather than gated four tiers up.

Use cases

What do you want to build?

Each of these is a template in the product. Pick one and you are four steps from a finished list.

Turn a list of companies into verified, sendable contacts.

  1. 1

    Import

Drop a CSV of domains, or start from the outbound-agency template.

  2. 2

    Waterfall

Findymail → Prospeo → Hunter → Dropcontact. Stops at the first verified hit.

  3. 3

    Estimate

See cost and expected match rate before a single credit moves.

  4. 4

    Export

Push straight to Instantly or Smartlead, or download the CSV.

Charged for verified addresses only — a domain nobody has an address for costs nothing.

Trust

Guardrails that are on by default

The failure modes of this category are a surprise bill and a compliance problem. Both are handled before you have to think about them.

Estimate first

Cost and expected match rate before any run, computed from the same maths as the invoice.

Hard spend caps

On by default at your plan allowance. Enforced server-side, before a provider is called.

Idempotent retries

Keyed on provider and inputs. A retry replays the stored answer instead of charging again.

GDPR by construction

Suppression stops the provider call, not just the export. Erasure clears cells, provenance and cache.

FAQ

Straight answers

How is this different from Clay?+

Two things. Clay charges a credit per provider call; Kiln charges only when a call returns a verified result, so a list with a 40% match rate costs you 40% of the calls rather than all of them. And CRM sync, the public API and webhooks are on the $49 tier instead of the $446 one.

Is the estimate binding?+

It is a forecast, not a quote — real match rates vary by list. But it is computed from the same maths the billing uses: expected cost follows expected matches, not expected calls. The ledger is the record of what you owe, and it shows the reason for every entry.

Can I use my own provider API keys?+

Yes, on every tier including Free. Paste a Hunter, Icypeas, Prospeo, Findymail, Dropcontact or People Data Labs key and you pay that vendor at cost while Kiln charges only for orchestration. Keys are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and never returned to the browser after you save them.

What happens when I hit my limit?+

Nothing surprising. Every workspace has a hard spend cap, on by default at your plan allowance, enforced server-side before any provider is called. You get an alert at 75%. On the Free plan there is no overage at all — it simply stops.

Do you scrape LinkedIn?+

No. Kiln calls licensed provider APIs only. hiQ v. LinkedIn ended in a breach-of-contract judgment against the scraper, and that is not a risk we will put a customer behind.

How do opt-outs work?+

A suppressed email or domain is checked before any provider is called, so an opt-out stops the processing and the spend, not just the export. An erasure request redacts the cells, deletes the provenance quoting them and clears the cached payloads.
